This prestigious event stands as a key meeting point for the French and Italian chemical communities, offering a unique platform to exchange cutting-edge knowledge, foster collaborations, and highlight the latest scientific breakthroughs. Covering a broad spectrum of chemistry \u2014 from organic and bioorganic chemistry, green chemistry, material chemistry, computational chemistry and AI, and medicinal and food chemistry \u2014 the conference will showcase progress in synthesis, characterization, and analysis of innovative compounds and materials.<br>The scientific program will be enriched by plenary lectures delivered by internationally renowned experts, alongside oral and poster presentations by early-career researchers (PhD students and postdoctoral fellows) selected for their excellence by the Scientific Committee. In total, the two-day program will feature 4 plenary lectures, including the 2 distinguished awards recognizing outstanding contributions from a French and an Italian chemist, 5 invited talks, and over 39 oral communications. Then, she moved to the Department of Applied Science and Technology of Politecnico di Torino, where she is currently responsible for the Vibrational Spectroscopy lab and, in 2012, established the Surf-CheM (Surface Chemistry of Materials, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scm.polito.it\/\">www.scm.polito.it<\/a>) research group. Born scientifically as a physical-chemist and a spectroscopy expert, at Politecnico she expanded her scientific interests to materials science and technology, and chemical engineering, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials for gas adsorption\/storage; energy storage&amp;production; heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis (including water splitting, CO<sub>2<\/sub> reduction and advanced oxidation processes for water remediation) and biomedical applications (including biomolecules detection and the study of nanomaterials toxicity and ecotoxicity). In 2019, she has been Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of MIT (USA), in the framework of a MITOR program with Prof. Moungi Bawendi. In 2017, she has been Visiting Professor at Universidad Catolica de Temuco and at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (Chile). In 2020, she has been Visiting Researcher at Universidad de Las Islas Baleares (Spain). In 1997: Visiting Researcher at the Instituto Superior Tecnico de Lisboa (Portugal). She currently coordinates the activities of the Departmental Teaching Committee. At present, she published ca 207papers in peer-reviewed journal and holds three patents. She took part to several national and international conferences, nine times as an invited speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prof. Dr. Orietta Monticelli \u2013 Professor at University of Genova<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"low\" src=\"https:\/\/new.societechimiquedefrance.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Capture-decran-2026-01-26-a-15.13.07-273x300.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-223638\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.9130434782608695;width:210px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oriera Monticelli is an Associate Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Genova, with a strong academic and research background in chemical sciences and polymer chemistry. She earned her degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Genova and completed a PhD in Chemical Sciences through joint research conducted at the University of Genova and the University of Colorado Boulder (USA). Her early international research experience includes two Marie Curie Research Training Grants, which supported her work at the Centre for Industrial Chemistry and Catalysis at KU Leuven (Belgium) between 1997 and 1998. From 1999 to 2014, Prof. Monticelli served as a researcher at the University of Genova, where she has held the position of Associate Professor since 2014. In 2020, she obtained the Italian National Scientific Habilitation for Full Professor in Industrial Chemistry. Alongside her academic role, she has taken on several institutional responsibilities, including Vice-Dean of the School of Sciences, member of the University Research and Technology Transfer Commission and, since 2022, Delegate to the University Quality Assurance Committee. She is also involved in doctoral education and national scientific committees. Prof. Monticelli has an extensive research record, with around 130 peer-reviewed publications, approximately 3,700 citations, an H-index of 36, two patents, and over 100 conference contributions. She has led and participated in numerous national and European research projects and collaborated closely with industrial partners. Her research focuses on bioplastic-based materials, polymer modification, functionalization, and recycling, aiming to improve sustainability and expand industrial applications. These themes are closely integrated into her teaching and international research collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prof. Dr. Francesca Spyrakis \u2013 Full Professor, University of Torino<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"low\" src=\"https:\/\/new.societechimiquedefrance.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Sans-titre-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224231\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8108108108108109;width:210px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Francesca Spyrakis obtained her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Parma in 2007, under the supervision of Prof. A. Mozzarelli. She then joined the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia for a postdoc in collaboration with Molecular Discovery Ltd. In 2016 she joined the University of Turin, where she is currently full professor in medicinal chemistry, and head of the M4D lab (https:\/\/m4dlab.unito.it\/).<br>Her research is mainly focused on the identification of new treatments and strategies to counteract antimicrobial resistance, and to inhibit neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative diseases, by means of in silico approaches. She has extensive experience in the use of advanced computational tools for virtual screening, binding free energy estimation, and analysis of structure\u2013activity relationships. She is author of more than hundred forty contributions in international journals and books, and she has led several projects aimed at the identification of new antimicrobials and antinflammatory molecules.<br>She is Delegate for Data and Process Management, Quality Assurance, Effectiveness, Efficiency and Transparency in Data Management for the Rector of the University of Turin, President of the Pharmacy Degree at the University of Turin, and she has been President of the Piemonte and Valle d\u2019Aosta section of the Societ\u00e0 Chimica Italiana in 2023-2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dr. Matteo Lusardi \u2013 Researcher at&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Genova<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"low\" src=\"https:\/\/new.societechimiquedefrance.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Capture-decran-2026-01-26-a-15.13.20-256x300.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-223640\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8521739130434782;width:196px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Matteo Lusardi received his PhD in Pharmaceutical, Food and Cosmetic sciences from the University of Genova in 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Chiara Brullo and Prof. Andrea Spallarossa. Following his doctoral studies, he carried out postdoctoral research within the scope of a PRIN project about the synthesis of novel indole-based biocompatible adhesive. After one year, he joined the group of Dr. Marco De Vivo at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, working on the synthesis of selective NKCC1 inhibitors for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders in collaboration with IAMA-Therapeutics. In 2025, he returned to the University of Genova as contract researcher, being awarded for the Next Generation EU, PNRR program \u201cFinanziamento di progetti presentati da giovani ricercatori\u201d. His research is focused on the development of versatile synthetic methods for the preparation of pharmaceutically relevant heterocycle derivatives as anticancer, antiviral, antoprotozoal agents and PDE4 inhibitors, with a particular attention to the pyrazole nucleus. She leads a team of seven researchers working in mass spectrometry, NMR, and EPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She graduated as an engineer from the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure de Chimie de Clermont-Ferrand (now Sigma Clermont) in 1992 and worked as a laboratory manager at the Institut Louise Blanquet in Clermont-Ferrand from 1992 to 1999. At the same time, she obtained a DEA (postgraduate diploma) in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Lyon 1 in 1994 and completed her PhD at the University of Paris 6 under the supervision of Professor Jean-Claude Tabet in 1999. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Purdue University (USA) under Professor R. Graham Cooks (2000\u20132001), she worked as a laboratory manager at Sanofi-Synth\u00e9labo (2001\u20132002) before starting her academic career at Aix Marseille University in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specialized in mass spectrometry, her work combines fundamental research\u2014focused on ionization and fragmentation mechanisms of synthetic polymers\u2014with applied projects on the structural characterization of macromolecules with complex architectures. Since 2015, she has been developing MS\/MS sequencing methods to read information encoded in the backbone of digital polymers designed for data storage. He obtained his PhD in 2001 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jacques Eustache, working on metathesis reactions applied to the total synthesis of (-)-fumagillol. He then carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Ben Feringa, focusing on asymmetric catalysis, in particular rhodium-catalyzed conjugate additions of boronic acids to enones. Dr. Jean-Guy Boiteau began his career in 2003 as a medicinal chemist at Galderma R&amp;D in Sophia-Antipolis, where he worked on several therapeutic targets related to skin diseases, including PPAR agonists, tyrosinase inhibitors, and CYP26A1 inhibitors. In 2010, he moved into chemical development, taking responsibility for the process R&amp;D laboratory, where he was involved in identifying new synthetic routes to active pharmaceutical ingredients. In parallel, he pursued research activities, notably on novel hydrogels based on modified hyaluronic acid, and developed a collaboration with Prof. Dr. Rachel Auzely at CERMAV in Grenoble. In 2018, he joined the Nuvisan group as Head of Chemical Development, also in Sophia-Antipolis. Following his doctoral studies, he carried out postdoctoral research at Universit\u00e9 Paris XI (Orsay) in the group of Dr. Emmanuelle Schulz. After a one-year ATER position at the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure de Chimie de Paris in collaboration with Dr. Virginie Vidal, he was appointed Ma\u00eetre de Conf\u00e9rences (Associate Professor) at Aix-Marseille Universit\u00e9 in 2008, within the Department of Chemistry, where he teaches and conducts his research at the Institut des Sciences Mol\u00e9culaires de Marseille (CNRS UMR 7313). In 2024, he successfully obtained his Habilitation \u00e0 Diriger des Recherches (HDR). Dr. Olivier Chuzel was awarded the Guy Ourisson Prize at the 59th GECO meeting in 2018. His research interests include synthetic methodology, enantioselective metal and organic catalysis, boron chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, surface catalysis, and the interfaces between chemistry, materials science, physics, and biology. Roques. She then pursued postdoctoral research at the Australian National University with Prof. Dr. Leo Radom, and at UCSF with Prof. Dr. J. Andrew McCammon. After serving as Associate Professor and later Full Professor at ENS de Lyon, where she also chaired the Department of Chemistry, she has been Professor at Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur and a member of the Institut de Chimie de Nice (CNRS UMR 7272) since 2022. As a specialist in computational chemistry and biochemistry, her research focuses on multiscale modeling of damaged DNA, G-quadruplexes, and protein\u2013ligand interactions, at the interface of supramolecular chemistry and structural biology. He then joined the University of Cambridge in November 2005 as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Sir Shankar Balasubramanian. His research there led to the invention of pyridostatin, a potent small molecule targeting G-quadruplex DNA structures. In collaboration with Prof. Dr. Steve Jackson (Gurdon Institute, Cambridge), he firmly established the link between G-quadruplex DNA and genomic instability. Dr. Rapha\u00ebl Rodriguez joined CNRS in 2012 as a group leader and was promoted to Research Director at Institut Curie in 2017. He has led major projects such as the synthesis of remodelin (a molecule able to correct chromatin structural defects associated with cellular aging), as well as studies on the mechanisms of action of natural and synthetic molecules including marmycin and ironomycin, which affect iron metabolism, and investigations on the action of salinomycin on cancer stem cells. His work has earned him numerous distinctions, including the Tetrahedron Young Investigator Award (2018), the Klaus Grohe Prize (2022), the CNRS Silver Medal (2024), and the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences (2023). At the interface of chemical synthesis, cell biology, and translational research, his approach aims to develop new molecules with high therapeutic potential.
